GOLDFISH
Carassius auratus
The kitefish is a species of freshwater fish of the Cyprinidae family. It is native to Asia, particularly China, where it was domesticated more than a thousand years ago.
They generally measure between 12 and 22cm and can live between 5 and 10 years on average, although with optimal care they can live up to 25 years.
Reproduction of this species usually occurs after a significant temperature change, often in spring. Comet fish, like all cyprinids, are egg-layers. Their clutches normally hatch within 48-72 hours.
